I really enjoy the lessons from María! She makes me feel comfortable to practice speaking Spanish and make errors. I also like her flexibility. I wanted to practice listening and speaking and she reformed the lessons to exactly that! If you are in the area and want to practice your Spanish I would definitely recommend her!

I am very glad having had Maria as my Spanish teacher! Especially I appreciated her flexibility, adjusting the lessons to my needs and wishes.

María is an amazing teacher, with a scholar’s knowledge of Spanish combined with deep fluency in English. She combines this multilingual intelligence with patience, kindness, a sense of fun. We strongly recommend her to anyone interested in learning Spanish at a beginner or advanced level. Karen and Tom Carter, from Washington D.C Javea, 2022

María has taught me in a mixed ability face-to-face class of eight people (Level A1). She was very effective, keeping the whole class engaged, giving extra help to those lagging behind while providing extra exercises for those who were more advanced. She obviously enjoys teaching and is enthusiastic. She has also taught me one-to-one via Zoom (Level A2). She makes conversations interesting and relevant, and though I sometimes had to ask her to speak more slowly, I think this would be common to anyone beginning to learn Spanish. She checked what I wished to cover in the lessons, was good at taking me just outside my comfort zone, used additional material (quizzes, videos etc.) effectively and she suggested additional resources and provided (optional) homework. We had good rapport. I recommend her as a teacher of beginner and elementary Spanish. Paul, Newcastle upon Tyne, 2018 - 2021

I have had eight one to one lessons with María which I have found very useful. Although I had a basic knowledge I haven't really used it. María has not only taught me some useful everyday phrases but she has also helped me remember the Spanish I had previously known and given me confidence to use it. She is a patient, understanding and sympathetic teacher and I hope in the future to join one of her group classes. Best wishes y buena suerte! Paul Russell, from the UK - 2023

My twelve-year-old son had Spanish lessons with Maria with an accent to the spoken language and within a couple of weeks he has progressed into full conversation with her! He really enjoyed her lessons, María kept it simple and enjoyable, choosing different topics that would interest him. She also changed the venue a few times to park, cafetería etc and he never got bored of it! Highly recommend Maria Lena Duncan, Jávea 2022

We started learning Spanish with Maria at beginner level. We quickly learnt the basics which gave us confidence when ordering in cafes/restaurants. Maria tailored our lessons to our needs, she is extremely patient. As we are not residents of Spain some of our lessons were done via Zoom which enabled us to continue learning Spanish when we were back at home in the UK. I would highly recommend Maria to anyone who is wanting to learn Spanish.

Hi, my name is John and I'm from the Northeast of England. I attended around five Spanish language courses of different lengths ,where María was my Spanish tutor, in Bedlington and Cramlington. I enjoyed these courses very much and learned a lot from them. María is a very good tutor, easy going, very helpful with questions and problems, and only helpful to forward your knowledge, classes were relaxed and friendly and I would definitely recommend Maria as your Spanish tutor

María uses a number of teaching methods including I.T, games & handouts to re-inforce & review material. As María is Spanish she also brings to her lessons her knowledge of Spanish customs & history which makes the lessons a little less academic and more enjoyable. The use of everyday situations is the norm. If you want to learn Spanish I would definitely recommend María. Best wishes, Linda Vasey, Bedlington, UK
