- "I am rating Tamarit based on the whole service including Webshop, delivery, support and their own products. Webshop: Great overview and step by step process when selecting the model specific parts. From shopping cart to payment everything fine. Delivery: I ordered the Silverstone Seat (black) for the Scrambler 900 on the 25.09. through their Webshop and there it said that the product is in stock and will be shipped out in 48 hours. After checking the website again it suddenly said the seat is in high demand and it can take up to 10 days. In the end seats have been delivered almost one month later on the 21.10. Unfortunately tamarit never gave an proper update by themselves and only replied with one sentence after I asked them about the delivery status. Support: I can only rate the support based on my experiences. Calling the hotline is basically not possible as I tried it several days for several times and never got anyone on the phone besides their automatic answering machine. Email support was either untrained or not familiar with the products, as I wrote them that the silverstone seat is not properly fitting to my motorcycle and they just answered it fits the scrambler. As there were no instructions coming with the seat and Tamarits website said the seat change works just as with the original triumph seat, I had to google and check what could be the issue. Turned out you have to unscrew the seat lock and change its position further down to the end of the frame. For the scrambler you also had to unscrew the whole plastic covers. For someone who doesn’t change out triumph seats on a daily basis I think this is quite frustrating without some information from tamarit. This is definitely something the support or at least the website should make visible for the customer. Therefore from my experience I would say the support is quite bad and tamarit should at least update the product page for the silverstone seat with some instruction information. Product: This is very subjective! The silverstone seat looks well made and I can’t spot any issues with its production quality yet. I am curious how the seat will look after one year. Unfortunately the seat doesn’t really fit 100% to the tank, which leaves a little gap between the tank and the seat. But I expected this from the product pictures. As for the comfort, the seat doesn’t feel more comfortable and it feels definitely harder than the original triumph seat. I had some really nasty backpain after a four hour ride which I never had before with the original triumph seat. Maybe I just need some time getting used to the new seating position. Speaking about the position, I really dont understand for which kind of person this seat should be and what its purpose is (sporty, comfortable etc.) I am 180cm with normal body composition and I just can’t get my legs to smoothly grip the tank. It’s like the seating position is too low to be able to grip the tank. Due to the curved shape of the seat, it’s not really possible to change the riding position much as you can’t move further back on the seat without having no feeling of the bike anymore. So basically I ended up now at the very front of the seat to be slightly able to grip the lower part of the tank and have at least some feeling for the ride. All in all I really think tamarit is a really good company and I love their custom bikes and the looks of their broad range of accessories. But compared to other OEM manufacturers I think they are lacking behind quite a bit in terms of service quality and general customer experience."
